It’s been a while since I’ve been in the mood to talk photography. That all started when the “more durable” shutter in my Canon 30D broke. After just under 8000 pictures taken with the camera it’s now going to cost me $225 to get it fixed.
I was getting tired of Canon in general being totally steamrollered by Nikon so I traded all my Canon gear in for my brand new Nikon D700. All I can say so far about it is WOW. It is so much more capable from the viewpoint of a professional, I’m really looking forward to putting it through its paces this fall when I’ll be on staff at the UNT paper.
Here is one of the first pictures I’ve taken with the new camera. Keep in mind that it was taken at ISO 6400 (extremely high) and I only ran it through the Nikon software that came with the camera. No editing.
